Alpacas, members of the Camilid family, come in
about 22 natural colors ranging from white to true
black. They are sheared once a year, yielding
between one and eight pounds of fleece. Alpaca is
classified as a luxury fiber (similar to cashmere).
It is strong, soft, warm, and light and has a good
hand. We offer alpaca roving from New England
Alpacas and The Alpaca Yarn Company. Alpaca fleece
and yarn can also be dyed.
